FAQS

  • We offer a variety of health and wellness services with the overall goal of helping our clients achieve their best quality of life long term. We use the most up-to-date research-based solutions that fit within your budget and lifestyle. This looks different for each person. Check out our “Services” page or schedule a Discovery Call to learn more!

  • We treat all types of symptoms and medical conditions, ranging from unexplained, non-specific symptoms to autoimmune disorders and cancer. This includes symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, headaches, gastrointestinal symptoms, low testosterone and other hormonal imbalances, to name a few. We have treated clients with a range of pre-existing medical conditions including metabolic syndrome, diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol disorders, infertility, inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune disease, cancer and more

  • According to the Institute for Functional Medicine, the definition of functional medicine is “a biology-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease.” It is different from what we consider “traditional” or “western” medicine in that the focus becomes on finding and addressing the cause of the symptoms instead of simply treating the symptoms with medication or surgery. Functional medicine emphasizes a holistic approach using preventative methodologies and medicines.

  • Integrative medicine is different from other types of medicine (see above) in that it offers a wide range of treatment options. There is a focus on the doctor-client relationship as well as a holistic approach to both disease treatment and prevention.

Integrative medicine combines traditional “western” medicine (i.e. medications and surgeries) with complementary and alternative forms of medicine (i.e. mind-body practices, acupuncture, etc.). By having knowledge in all of these areas of medicine, we are able to create the best plan for the individual that is both effective and in line with treatment modalities they prefer to use.

  • X3 Health provides a holistic approach to your health utilizing aspects from western, functional, and integrative medicine as they specifically apply to you, your conditions, and your overall goals.

There is an emphasis on the partnership between the doctor and client, and requires you to fully participate in your wellness journey, in order to optimize your health.

A comprehensive process is used to determine what is currently going on in your body, mind, and spirit to best design a program that moves you toward your wellness goals. This includes extensive testing and a thorough intake process, with clear goal-setting and customized program creation to focus on these areas.

  • X3 Health does not currently take insurance. Due to the increasingly cumbersome barriers insurance companies have in place, we elected to devote our time to patient care instead of focusing on filing insurance and fighting for reimbursement. Our client’s health and programming is most important, and we want to continue to devote our time to what matters most. In addition, insurance companies often dictate aspects of your health instead of allowing your doctor to make those recommendations. For example, if medication and supplement coverage is limited, the provider or practice you can see is restricted, and the testing and treatment options available to you are dictated by them. This is not how X3 Health believes in serving our clients. We want to be able to offer you any and all services that may improve your health and allow you to decide which of those falls in line with your needs, lifestyle, and budget.

While we do understand that having to pay cash can be a hardship, we offer payment plans and will work with you as best we can. We will provide documentation in the form of a superbill with diagnosis codes and service codes so that you can submit these to your insurance companies. However, we do not guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you for or consider your services “necessary”.

At the end of the day, your health is your number one asset. At X3 Health, we prioritize improving your current condition and preventing future disease processes to help you live your best quality of life.

  • Bioidentical hormones have the same identical molecular structure as the hormones that are naturally found in your body. Synthetic hormones do not have the same molecular structure, but your body can convert these to usable hormones.

If hormonal testing suggests that you are deficient in these areas, a thorough review of your medical conditions is done and options for improvement are offered. These typically include lifestyle changes, nutritional and supplement support, and bioidentical hormone replacement when indicated.

  • There are some things you should consider when purchasing supplements. Specifically, have the supplements been studied for the effects that are being claimed? What dose was studied? What does the research actually say? What is the safety of the supplement? Am I taking any other prescription medications or supplements that may interfere with its effectiveness or safety? If a supplement sounds too good to be true, it often is.

Unlike pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements are only partially regulated in the United States. All dietary supplement manufacturers must follow the regulations set forth by the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act (1994), which established that all manufacturers must follow the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). These guidelines specifically address safety, consistency, quality, purity, and potency. However, this regulation is limited. For example, there are variations in how products are tested as well as how often they are tested (for the previously mentioned characteristics.) On top of this, the suppliers of the raw materials used to create the dietary supplements are not required to follow the FDA cGMPs.

When a product makes it to the market, testing of these dietary supplements prior to selling is not required. Because of this, there is no guarantee that the products themselves are safe and effective.

Another thing to consider is how the product is stored prior to it reaching you. Most products should be stored in a cool, dry place in order to prevent premature expiration. (Some products even need to be refrigerated.) If the product is being shipped to you from a supplier, there is no guarantee that the product has been stored or shipped under those regulated conditions. By the time it reaches you, if these conditions have not been met, the product may not be effective or even safe to the stated expiration date.

In general, it is recommended that you choose brand labels with the NSF International, US Pharmacopeia, Underwriters Laboratory, or ConsumerLab seal. These confirm that the ingredients in the product are accurate and that the product does not contain any knowingly harmful ingredients.

When getting your supplements through X3 Health, we do that research for you. We use only the highest quality supplements and recommend products that we know and trust. We recommend specific supplements based on your intake process and lab results to support you toward your goals.
